Summer Sangria

With the best blueberry pie covered by my mom I needed to find another way to use the bounty of fresh blueberries we picked on Monday morning.  What better way to beat the heat than a refreshing glass of blueberry and peach sangria?  (Also a perfect signature cocktail for parties, bbq's, and summer weddings)

Blueberry and Peach Summer Sangria

1.5 liter bottle white wine (I used Redwood Creek Pinot Grigio for its peachy notes)

¾ Cup Peach Vodka

1 ½ Cup Pineapple Juice

¼ Cup Sugar

4 Peaches (2 sliced, 2 pureed in food processor)

¾ Cup Blueberries

Ice for serving

Completely puree 2 peaches and sugar in food processor, pour puree into serving pitcher, add vodka, pineapple juice, sliced peaches, blueberries, and wine. Stir to combine. Refrigerate a full day at best but a minimum of 2 hours. Before serving add 10 ice cubes to pitcher and stir briskly. Serve over ice, using a slotted spoon to add fruit to glasses. Sangria also may be served with a splash of seltzer or sprite.

Fairylight Delights!

If I was having an outdoor cermony I would have as many of these glass bubbles filled with tealights hanging from the trees as possible.  Imagine how stunning these little orbs would be glowing with candlelight.  So romantic I can hardly stand it!  Find them at:

A Sneak Peek...

I just had to share a sneak peek at what I was suddenly inspired to create today. I had just finished creating a floral hair comb for my cousins bachelorette party and I had some extra combs laying around and decided to play around with my butterflies and some Swarovski crystals. Here is what resulted and I love it, I hope you do too!!!

I opened my door this morning and was greeted by a warm breeze, birds chirping, and the sweet smell of freshy cut grass. Breath deeply.... mmmmmm.... really, it's therapeutic!
A day like this makes me happy that wedding season is upon us. So many brides choose the spring season to wed, and why not? The gaurentee of new life, lush landscapes, and fresh colors are just a few things that make each spring so special
.
I find myself still watching any show related to weddings and wedding planning, even though I married my husband in 2006. I think if I could get married every year I would, I loved the entire process. So brings me to my new endeavor creating my winged creatures to use for weddings, showers, and parties of all kinds... guess it's not such a surpirse that I would end up doing something wedding related if I could!
In my travels browsing other shops on Etsy.com I dug up some wonderful creations that would bring the outdoors in (or use them outside) to create a lovely woodland wedding.
My first stop was to New Hampshire Wood Creations (www.NHWoodscreations.etsy.com) here I found the most delightful ring bearer pillows and custom birch bark vases. I personally think these customized birch vases would make fantastic anniversary gifts!

What would a wedding be without jewelry for the bride, bridesmaids, or any guest attending a woodland wedding? I happened across Next Chapter Boutique (
www.NextChapter.etsy.com) and fell in love with their gorgeous acorn jewelry. These exquisite earrings and necklaces would be perfect for any season.
Next Chapter also makes custom jewelry which would be a perfect idea for bridesmaids gifts! You can become a fan of Next Chapter on facebook at; www.facebook.com/pages/NextChapter-Boutique-Acorn-Heaven/236960690050

It's almost summer and my garden is a flutter with many a winged creature. Birds, dragonflies, bees, and of course butterflies grace my flowers and trees every day.

I have spent hours in my gardens photographing both my flowers and their visitors. Come spend some time in my garden, you may be surprised by what you see!
